Fiat's little 500 bulks up

2 Feb 2012

it looks as though someone at Fiat wanted a super-size version of the little 500 and here it is, meet the bigger the 500L
Have you ever looked at the little Fiat 500 and thought it was too small for you? Well, we haven’t exactly had that though because small is just what it is.

Clearly though, someone at Fiat has longed for a bigger 500 and now the firm is set to expand the 500 line-up to include the 500L, which stands for large in case you were wondering.

This five-door 500 is being billed as a small MPV that very much feels like an SUV. Fiat claims that there will be enough space inside to seat five people. The engine range will consist of two petrol engines, a TwinAir and a 1.4-litre, and one turbocharged 1.3-litre diesel motor.

The 500L is set to be revealed to the public at the Geneva Motor Show in March, before it hits European showrooms towards the end of the years. Time will tell if us South Africans will get the 500 Large.
