Some new details have started to emerge about the next-generation Audi A3, which is expected to make its public debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March.
The new information suggests that the new model will use the new modular MQB platform, which should make it ten percent lighter than the current car. You can also expect to see an improved interior, along with an upgraded infotainment system.
As for the engine options, the petrol side of things is expected to kicik off with a 77kW 1.2-litre engine, followed by a 1.4 with 90 or 132kW and finally, a two-litre with 155kW. If you’re looking for a diesel engine then the range should include a 1.6-litre TDI with 77kW, as well as a two-litre TDI with either 103kW or 132.
If none of these engines tickle for fancy, later on there will of course be an S3, which will have a two-litre turbocharged four-pot that pushes out 206kW. Still not enough? How about the next RS3 that will keep its 2.5-litre five-cylinder engine, only it will have 257kW on tap.
None of this is confirmed of course but as Geneva approaches, we’ll have more information for you so stay tuned.
